Nouvel album solo de Sylvain Chauveau, Kogetsudai, à paraître en octobre

Nous avons la joie de vous annoncer que le nouvel album solo de Sylvain Chauveau, Kogestudai, sortira le 14 octobre sur Brocoli, en vinyle, CD et digital.

Kogetsudai est le 10ème disque solo de Sylvain Chauveau, mais aussi le deuxième d'une trilogie initiée avec Singular Forms (Sometimes Repeated) (2010) dans laquelle le format chanson est déconstruit et remodelé aux confins du silence.

Alors que l'album précédent tirait son inspiration de la peinture abstraite, celui-ci est influencé par les jardins de pierre des temples zen du Japon, où l'album a été en grande partie composé, et auxquels le titre fait référence. Des lignes épurées - un son électronique clair, minimal, dessiné - d'où surgissent des notes du réel - le piano encore, et le chant, riche et grave, de Sylvain.

Brocoli is happy to announce the release of Sylvain Chauveau's new album, Kogestudai, on October 14th. It will be available in LP, CD and digital formats.

Kogetsudai is Sylvain Chauveau's 10th album, the second in a trilogy initiated by Singular Forms (Sometimes Repeated) (2010), where the song structure is dismantled and reconstructed on the fringe of silence.

Whereas Singular Forms found inspiration from Abstract Painting, Kogetsudai is influenced by Zen rock gardens found in Japan — also the location where the album was conceived (for the most part) — and from which the album borrows its title. Layers of minimal electronic sounds and filtered field recordings meet Sylvain's rich baritone voice, with ghosts of piano.
